The general guideline is 3/4 cup of food per day for every 10 pounds your dog weighs.
Each pack contains 2 cups.
You can prepare in a few different ways: defrost in the fridge (this is the best way but takes the longest), immerse the pack in water, or remove the food from the package and defrost in a microwaveable safe container.
Dogs do not need their food heated up. You can serve Puppy Gang Fresh Food cold once it is defrosted, or if you prefer you can slightly warm it up as well. It is already cooked, so you do not need to re-cook.
If you store the food in a sealed container it should remain good to use for up to 4 days, similar to human food.
As our food is vacuum sealed, it last longer in the freezer than food stored in other ways. Therefore, our food can be frozen for up to 18 months before use.
Puppy Gang Fresh Foods has specifically designed 4 recipes with a holistic nutritionist to ensure that they contain the required nutrients for dogs. We therefore recommend that you provide your dog with the different meals to maximise their nutrients.
Yes, our meals have been designed with your pup’s health in mind in conjunction with a holistic veterinarian. You will recognise all ingredients in our meals - which is important! They are hormone and antibiotic free meat with organ and bone, nutritional supplements such as kelp powder and whole fruits and vegetables to give your pup the nutrients they need.
Our recipes contain a mix of macro and micronutrients found in whole meats, fish, fruits and veggies. As a result, the only mineral that we include is kelp powder which is all natural. Kelp powder is a leading source of iodine which is a trace mineral needed for healthy thyroid function. Kelp powder contains manganese, calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, riboflavin, niacin, thiamin, as wella s vitamins A, B-12, B-6 and C.
The majority of dogs do not need grains as a component of their diet - proteins, whole fruits and vegetables will meet the nutritional needs of your pup. No dogs need refined carbohydrates, therefore pasta can be considered a ‘filler’ and take away from the nutrition that your pup needs. Other grains can be considered a filler for most dogs, which is why we have specifically not added any of our recipes. However, some larger dogs may need some additional carbohydrates added to their diet. To determine whether your dog needs grains in their diet please consult with a veterinarian. We will be adding to our recipe collection and there will soon be a recipe with healthy whole grains for dogs with extra energy expenditure.
